the bed and the nook

Zuri has officially gotten too big for her bassinet. I was sad to leave it behind, because it's become one of my favorite baby furniture items...(the only other one we have is her changing table, also awesome) and I was hesitant to break out the crib we bought from a friend of mine cause it's so huge and from what I remembered it was kind of old school. (yes, i'm judgemental on furniture turns out it's a totally normal looking crib, where was my mind?) Also, crib bedding is outrageously expensive!! looking for anything freaking me out, um, 4 piece, $200!! who does that?! (sorry if you do, I still love you) and I wasn't quite up for the challenge of making it. But once Zuri kept wiggling enough in her sleep that her head was squished into the top of her bassinet I went searching for something more in our price range.

With many many bookmarks, and lots of decisions that I forced Chris to participate in (he did great, and is a very skilled manly shopper) we found this lovely deal that wasn't too crazy of a pattern or too pink. $71 and free shipping. thank you Overstock!

After rearanging our dinning room a bit, we found the perfect spot for baby girl, it's a little corner where the fridge used to be, yes our fridge used to be in our dinning room. not our choice, and I'm suuuper happy it is now in the kitchen where it rightfully belongs... and my kids room is now in the dinning room..I don't mind it at all! It's nice having our room to ourselves again.

Zuri loved her crib yesterday when Chris set it all up and we got the bedding on.

She's had a harder time falling asleep now that there are fabulous flowers to stare at, but when she finally does, she end ups up like this:

Meanwhile, she's been helping Chris study for his last classes, he's done today! Just finals for him next week and he's done! "Yipee Hooray!"

New Photos

Yesteday and this afternoon we went and took Baby pictures for a couple at school. of course we managed to get a few of Zuri while we were at it. Baby Lincoln is a cute kid. He's only three weeks old, and he already rivals Zuri in the lbs department. It was a lot of fun and we think they turned out pretty good for our first baby shoot.

Zuri is 3 months this week and is doing awesome

What? I was suppose to wear green?

It's amazing how as you get older holidays really don't matter, then when you get older then that you know all the holidays matter cause your kids know about everything from school. Well...My mistake. I showed up at Anna's (the 4 year old I babysit) school yesterday to pick her up and it is a sea of green. I'm thinking..."what the?..." then, the "ah-ha" moment strikes. I look down at my outfit...nope, definatly no green, bright blue shoes instead. Then I examine Zuri to see she's pure pink. Normally in the grown up world this wouldn't matter correct? Well being surrounded by wee children I start to recollect my child St. Patties day and remember the horrible horrible pinching. Yikes, I began to fear more for my 3 month old and how sometimes children don't know that babies don't like to be pinched. I wasn't worried about Anna, she loves Zur to much to pinch, but the other 50 kids running around made me nervous.

I walked into the classroom uneasy, preparing to gaurd Zur at all costs from the evil pinchers. I got funny looks, Anna pointed out that I wasn't wearing green and that I should be pinched, but did not pinch of course (then she ran ahead of me to get to the car first) and none of the other kids even noticed. Yup, nothing happened. I'm a spaz. Way to go Kenni.

Thought I'd share. Go St. Patties day!

Saturday walk and snuggle buddies

It was finally a nice day outside! So we took Kelso on a walk together, usually Zur has to be super bundled with her face in my chest to keep warm, if I even decide to take her since it's been so cold, but today was her first time facing out in the moby (oh such an exciting moment, I know!) When we got home Chris said her face was the : "holy crap what was all that" face when I realized the poor girl has never seen so much at once in her short life. She was very overwhelmed, but wasn't mad so I took that as a good sign. It was nice to be out.

Just getting a nice yawn out

Kelso and Zuri had a nice nap together today, I love seeing them cuddle up together. Sure, it's mostly just cause Kelso likes to lick any exposed hands or feet of Zuri's and to keep himself warm now that he's a naked mole rat, but I like to think there's some love there too.

I also watched my nephew, Caleb, today which ended up giving me an even deeper respect for people with twins...Hailey and Nic....cause the two were even awesome for me and I was still beat. You guys are amazing.

Proof that Kelso is awesome with kids, Caleb was grabbing his skin pretty hard for a while and Kels didn't even seem to notice, it was lovely.

I got a bit loopy while watching two babies with no other adult contact for many hours...it was entertaining though!
