so many birthdays!

This past week we celebrated baby girls' 4th month, Chris' 25th, my 22nd, and Kelso's 3rd birthdays. It's been a party week in April that's for sure.

Cami and Tys were so kind and watched baby girl for us Friday night so we could go venture to the big city and have a date night for Chris' birthday. We went to Buffalo Wind Wings! mmm...it was good stuff. Then shopped at Target...and as many of you know, I just love that place. I had a great time being with Chris. Thank you Spam and Tys.

Chris and I made up for not getting each other presents last year and got each other a bundle of goodies this year. Even though it's fun, it's probably a bad thing that our days are so close we had too much fun buying crap this year. I asked Chris for running shoes (I'm attempting to like running, so far so good, the shoes are inspiring) he also got me some fabulous clothes and a jogging stroller for Zur. I got him a slick man watch and a cool flash drive that looks like a key, it's pretty sweet, check it out lacie.com

Sunday was my birthday, but it was a very very busy day. Chris got a new calling in a student ward and it was our first Sunday with them. So Chris worked all night Saturday tell 7am, slept until 12:30pm, we went to church at 1, I went home at 4:30, he came home after his meetings at 6:00 we went to cami's for cake and more cupcakes and dinner (yum) Chris went back to work at 7 while Zur and I stayed with the Coops' until late just chilling. It was a fun and eventful weekend. Thank you for all the birthday love and gifts! We are very thankful to have such awesome friends and family.

Chris' ice cream cake, ended up being very chocolaty, but it was great. I completely forgot to take pictures of the cupcakes Cami made (what's wrong with me?) They were AMAZING though. White chocolate melted into the batter, whip cream and sliced strawberries for topping. Way to go Spam!

My present from Cam and Tys, there are some amazing recipes in here! I'm excited to try some.

thought getting Chris a re-gift present and saying it was from Josh would be entertaining. This is a "sexy" bracelet Cami got from a non-blood sister many, many years ago so found while moving. He laughed, it was great. (They gave him a Lowe's gift card too, super cool)
My family sent us a birthday box "breakfast in bed-in a box" Very inventive mom! I was very excited to get a mini muffin pan, I've always wanted them for some reason. I made the blue berry muffins immediately after I took this...They were delicious. Zuri wore her cupcake dress pictured as well. She looks great in yellow. Thanks mama!

And of course what is a post without a video of the child? Chris was keeping Zur happy. You can't quite hear how nasally her voice was, but it was awesome. She's so entertaining.

ps. Chris bought a motorcycle today! He's very excited about it. I'm glad he finally got one, I'd see him go off into motorcycle dream land whenever one of our brothers bought a new bike. congrats babe, all you need is a son and you'll have everything! :)

the bed and the nook

Zuri has officially gotten too big for her bassinet. I was sad to leave it behind, because it's become one of my favorite baby furniture items...(the only other one we have is her changing table, also awesome) and I was hesitant to break out the crib we bought from a friend of mine cause it's so huge and from what I remembered it was kind of old school. (yes, i'm judgemental on furniture turns out it's a totally normal looking crib, where was my mind?) Also, crib bedding is outrageously expensive!! looking for anything freaking me out, um, 4 piece, $200!! who does that?! (sorry if you do, I still love you) and I wasn't quite up for the challenge of making it. But once Zuri kept wiggling enough in her sleep that her head was squished into the top of her bassinet I went searching for something more in our price range.

With many many bookmarks, and lots of decisions that I forced Chris to participate in (he did great, and is a very skilled manly shopper) we found this lovely deal that wasn't too crazy of a pattern or too pink. $71 and free shipping. thank you Overstock!

After rearanging our dinning room a bit, we found the perfect spot for baby girl, it's a little corner where the fridge used to be, yes our fridge used to be in our dinning room. not our choice, and I'm suuuper happy it is now in the kitchen where it rightfully belongs... and my kids room is now in the dinning room..I don't mind it at all! It's nice having our room to ourselves again.

Zuri loved her crib yesterday when Chris set it all up and we got the bedding on.

She's had a harder time falling asleep now that there are fabulous flowers to stare at, but when she finally does, she end ups up like this:

Meanwhile, she's been helping Chris study for his last classes, he's done today! Just finals for him next week and he's done! "Yipee Hooray!"
