My own personal Tarzan

Chris has worked like a mad man the past three weeks. He and the workin' boys discovered a vine in the back yard of the Snapdragon Inn, so they took a break for a bit. He's too cute.

Thanks for the picture dad!

My Zurber

Zuri is my favorite little tike. Currently she is sitting on the floor, singing to herself and watching her hands wiggle this piece of plastic that once was a price tag attached to my belt. I don't know if it's Vermont or what, probably because I have so much time to watch her that I've noticed her doing so much more. Her fingers can now push food up to get in between her thumb and index finger and instead of just putting the food that's sticking up into her mouth she watches as her entire fist goes with it.

We took a little family trip to the nearest mall in "Rut-Vegas" about an hour away to get her new earrings. It had been over 6 weeks and I was itching to buy her something new. So we picked out diamond studs and diamond daisies. Currently wearing the daisies. I love them, she looks even girlier, if that's possible.

She is crawling now. When we left almost two weeks ago she was just sort of shimmy-snaking, now it's a full on, on the knees crawl. It's stinking cute. I put her in a little jumpsuit today that's sleeveless and knee length and when she tries to crawl her whole leg gets stuck until her foot is almost entirely inside her outfit. She tries so hard to keep going, until she stops, looks at me and lets out a lengthy baby sigh. I fix it, then she just keeps on going. So far she hasn't gottin into anything crazy, she knocked over Kelso's food and water bowls the other day, that was fun clean up, and she has become obsessed with any wire that is in sight. that's it for now, I'm sure they'll be something else to watch for tomorrow.

I have finally gotten the courage to do the 'cry out method'. I always hated the idea of it and it makes me so sad, but it got to the point where putting her to sleep took forever! Since Chelle's house is nice and spacious, I could feed her, burp her, give her a little rock and lay her down, leave the room and be downstairs where I could kind of hear her, but not have my ear drums blown to bits by her cries. It sucked the first few days. She did ok with naps, took her 20-30 minutes to fall asleep, but bed time was like death for her. She cried for an hour the first night before I finally gave in and gave her some bottle, She took two ounces and was out. Now it's 5-10 minutes for a nap and maybe 30 for bedtime. That's a relief. That was rough stuff right there. Thanks to Chelle and Brig for words of comfort, it was nice that they were literally right there to help me feel better. Chris was very comforting too, I shouldn't leave him out :)
When she does fall asleep though it's usually with her legs tucked under her belly and her little bum in the air, it's a pretty cute sight.

She loves paper. Like, loves to eat paper. Any time I go to the store I have to somehow hide my list so she doesn't take it when I'm not paying attention and swallow a big chunk of it. It's so funny, and slightly disgusting.

Her and Kelso are becoming best buddies. I love it. She snuggled up to him the other morning when I brought her into bed, as in straight up spooned him. He didn't even care, he used to hate it when she'd tug on his tail, now she can seriously drag him backwards by it and he just looks at her then licks her face. He's such a good dog, I love him too.

Chris has been working so much that when he comes home, she'll flail her arms as crazy and possible and bounces so much that her butt comes off the ground. She loves her dad. I love him too, he's a big time keeper. She is also only saying 'da-da-da-da-da' a bunch. I think he's her favorite.

She's become a mega snuggler with me when she's sleepy. There have been a bunch of instances in the past month when I rock her she'll rub against my shoulder and fall asleep. It's my current favorite.

Alright, that's currently all I can think of for the latest Zuri goodness. I forgot her little book that I write all this stuff down in so I figure I'll let everyone else know how dang awesome she is. Chris has been awesome too, he's been working like crazy these past few weeks he's gone by 8 or 9 and doesn't get home until 8 or 9. He's probably exhausted all the time. I miss him, I guess this is how real life is when people work full time jobs. Makes our part time jobs feel like gold :)

Well, that's it for now. hope everyone is having a dainty summer time!

Spanish

Since I ditched out of Spring semester to have a child I didn't take Spanish 2 (only offered in the Spring)And since I'm not a Spanish wiz like Chris I can't take the test to skip language. I now have to take the class through LSU to graduate. I hate it. Cause I'm bad at it. poop.

House painting, scrunchy faces and birthdays!

Cousins fighting over a spatula at Tyson and Cami's b-day celebrations, Caleb can do circles around Zuri though so it's not much competition .
scrunchy face, video below to show the goodness
sweet potatoes. yum.
Pretty sketchy, but he did it!
Zuri out observing the painting
post priming. The trim used to be orange...yuck
Chris worked so hard all week to get this all done, lucky we had two fellas from the ward come help since I couldn't unless Zur was napping. Thanks to Duste lending us her baby monitor so I actually could.
The three guys working away. They did great!
front finished. We still need to paint the white trim, (it's still primer now) and the back isn't done...that's a project for later in the summer when the humidity isn't as sickening.

It's been nice growin' ya.

My Last day with sort of long locks. I figured I should actually do my hair for once before I chopped it off. Give it my respects at least.
And the latest of the latest hair chopping. Yes, all done lazily on my couch... It makes it so I don't have to import pictures. Much simpler!

So there you have it! Thank you everyone who told me to go for it. I couldn't have done it without you :) I like it, it's much lighter (duh, Kenni) The chick who cut it just kept going, she told me it was a whole lot thicker then it looked. Chris said he likes it, I think he's a little shocked, Zuri looked at me for a long time before she started talking to me, but we will all get used to it. I'm just excited for getting ready lots faster now!
