rolly polly

I get Zuri all girlied up for church every Sunday in a headband/bow and shoes (she doesn't wear shoes too often so it's obviously just so exciting to me) I should take a picture of how cute she is all dressed up.

...by second hour it turns to a headband in tow and shoes make her slip so those are long gone.

by third hour she's exhausted, but just wants to roll around which then leads to a grouchy Zuri for me and late naps which equals late bedtimes. Oh well, she's cute.
Meanwhile, I've discovered that the student ward building has a mothers lounge. awesome! The building is brand new and of course, who else has kids except the bishopric wives? Well for now I'm the only one with a baby :) Lucky me!

The other night was laundry folding. I normally fold the sheets last and this just became a whole new amazing game for Zuri of course. She went at this for at least an hour before she wore herself out for bed. She's doing it again as we speak. (read/type, whatever)

The video I wanted didn't work, but this one sort of shows her craziness.

aaand I didn't want to tell everyone yet, but low and behold I have a husband who just can't contain himself when it comes to good news (it's sweet how excited he gets) so he's already told a bunch of people. Hopefully everything goes smoothly, it's still pretty early....

I'm pregers. Suprise! yup, it was for us too.

buddies

Zuri and Mack have been womb buddies from the beginning. I got to watch Mack today and Chris took some cute pictures of them together. I get the biggest kick out of them both. For some reason whenever we say their names people thing we are saying "Suri" and that Mack's parents are saying "Max" So here are Max and Suri. nice.

faces!

I can't get over how funny Zuri's faces are. I do realize that for some reason every time I get the camera she is only in her diaper. It's hot here ok?

I apparently took too long to give her food so she got a little frustrated with me, so sorry for the whinny noises. The cheerio stuck to her face was classic Zuri at meal time though. Love it.

munchkins

I don't know why I don't mention Daniel and Anna C. more. I babysit them basically everyday and they are a good source of stories for me. Cami watched Anna when she worked at Montessori daycare before she had Josh and they were in need of a new sitter after school until their parents got home from work. The opportunity came at a perfect time, right after we got pregers and I knew I wouldn't be able to work at the school bookstore after babe was born. The C's were awesome about me continuing to watch D and A after I had Z, (haha, that's fun) they gave me a ton of time to get adjusted to baby life (she came at a great time anyways) and the kids were sooo excited that I had finally had Zuri. Anna LOVED having a baby, she'd help me feed and burp her, even enjoyed watching how to change a diaper. Daniel loved to hold her and he was thoroughly entertained by smacking babies backs to get a burp out of them. They were very patient with me and seemed very confused with the idea of breastfeeding, but having to bottle feed Zuri as well helped them understand better.
The older Zuri has gotten the more fun they all have together. Now that she can crawl and chase the two they can all play games. We took a trip to my house today so the kids could see the upstairs and they all just played in Zuri's room for a few hours, just throwing toys at Zur and chasing her under the crib (Zuri's new hideout, video to come). Zuri likes to flop all over them when they hold her too. They're a cute little trio. I've decided that I need to take some pictures of them so Zuri can remember her part-time siblings as she gets older. Plus they are the cutest little blond kids.

Meanwhile, school sports have begun! Today was the first soccer game and Chris was there ready with the camera of course. It's funny, I don't really know anybody that plays, but I like watching soccer and it's fun to go see Chris doing what he likes. It was Zur's first game, and she had a great time once she figured out what the grass was. Chris took the heading picture, one of my new favorites of her. The man's got a great talent, huh? And I have a cute baby.

Pictures to come soon

upstairs.

Last Friday our little fam moved from our basement to big world of the upstairs. I know, very exciting. We had a funky limbo phase where the folks moving into the basement had to leave their apartment sooner then planned and the folks upstairs were closing on their new house later then planned...of course that would happen, why not?

That dilemma resulted in us moving all our stuff into the master bedroom upstairs (Chris has amazing organizing skills, who knew we could fit our whole world in one room?) and us staying with Cami and her munchkins for a week while Tyson was out of town on a work adventure. It was fun for sure. My favorite was seeing Zurber with her cousins. Josh would take off to another room only to be followed in speed crawl mode by Zur and Caleb. We should have gotten pictures, what was I thinking?! Caleb and Zuri are like little twins though, they sit next to each other all the time, they talk back and forth and of course, steal each others toys. Classic.

We are finally getting almost all the boxes unloaded and I'm trying to figure out how to properly organize things in good places. We have a crap ton of space and I'm loving it. Zuri is already sleeping so much better. Having her in the same room as us sleeping in pack n plays didn't do much good for her ( better then her in bed with us all the time though!) She loves her new room, it's got old brown shag carpet that she'll just run her chubby little fingers though over and over until she gets a chunk loose and tries to eat it...Then it just gets from cute to disgusting :) And Kelso of course is loving having windows to look out of. Poor guy couldn't see a thing of life outside the basement walls for a long long time.

It was sad leaving our little home downstairs, but I'm having a wonderful time up here so far. Now it's just getting ready for back to school and back to work. My little brother Chanson is coming out for school too though which we are all purely excited about. Another Hardy at SVU. He makes the fourth. How did that happen anyways?

Thanks for listening to my random life telling!

The greatest big sis...

Yup, that's right my one and only big sister, Cami. (or mentioned in previous posts as none other then Spam).

I'm not very good with writing, don't judge me.

Cami and I have always been best friends...minus the whole "I hate you, I wish I had a different sister" phase as children of course. She's three years older and has always been there for me, even when she lives 3,000 miles away. She left for Virginia when I was 15 and we didn't talk too much while she was in school for some reason, but when I was a Senior she met Tyson and we had a nice relinking in our lives.

She and Tys were there through my many dramatic relationships my High school and Freshman year of college brought along, but when Cami got pregers with good ol' Joshua, I decided that I was in need of a change in a huge way and the way I was gunna get it was by ditching Cali (what I thought would be a temporary move) and head to VA to party with Spam, Tys and the new babe. (I didn't actually go that easily towards the end, the night before we were leaving I put up the biggest fight of my life and told my mom there was no way I would go....Well she got me by saying "go or you're on your old with life." alright fine. But thank goodness that woman knew what she needed to say to get me out here.)

Cami and Tyson were the first ones to meet Chris and of course, loved him and Cami was crazy supportive. We knew he was a keeper when the first day Chris met Cami she was in recovery from a C-section and fully exposed trying to feed Josh and Chris said something to the effect of, "it's cool, I've seen breast feeding a million times, who cares?"

Cami and Tyson were awesome and let me live with them the first half of spring semester when Chris and I were engaged so I would have to pay for the schools' housing, even though they had a brand new baby. I don't really feel like I helped much, but Cami was the best. We ate eggo's and toaster stroodles every morning before school. She was there when I got my wedding dress in the mail (really she helped me jump into the mass pile of fabric) and she was at my wedding freezing cold, with a 4 month old, in a maid of honor dress that you had to completely take off to breast feed. Trooper? I think so.

Cami was the first person I called when I found out I was first pregnant, she was there when I lost the baby and Tyson helped Chris with my blessing. Cami was there again when I got pregnant with Zuri. And of course, the first person I called when I went into labor. She stashed Kelso at their no pets allowed apartment until our friends could take him and took him back when they had to leave town. She came over Christmas morning to try and help me breast feed, and when no one else would go out in the cold to walk Kelso when I was exausted and bawling (Chris was at his brothers wedding so he has an exuse) she took him, even though her boys were exhausted and crying too).

She watched Zurber all day yesterday so Chris and I could completely move out and clean our little basement so the new folks could move in a day early. And believe me, Zuri has been no sunshine the past few days. And of course, who is letting us stay at their house while we are currently kicked out of our own home? yup, that's how great she is. Letting us eat her food, and have our sly dog steal and chew toys to bits.

She's got two super funny boys, and good tough hubby, wants to be (and is) and great writer (I love her short stories), reads ALL the time, has patients beyond belief, is shy, but can goof off and laugh unlike any other girl, loves chocolate like it's her life source, is beautiful, and has hair that we like to call "the mop."

She's my Virginian buddy, my go to girl or whatever you'd call it, and the strongest person I know, and of course she gave me the nick name, Bunk. She wins the title of best nick-namer-that-will-totally-stick-person-I've-ever-known. She never ceases to amaze my little mind. I felt like people should know how cool she is. So there you have it. Love you Spam.

And of course, I could never talk about sisterhood without mentioning my little sister, Camel (Carm-dawg) She is 13 this month and acts like she's older then me. She's beautiful and a talker, but a master baby entertainer and is so loving and giving. Love you too Mellie.

Man of Awesomeness

Kelso observing the yard from the back deck. probably checking out a squirrel or something
Chris' latest project was to fix the A/C blower that broke, which resulted in him taking out a good chunk of our bathroom wall. He came up with a clever idea to make the big whole into a corner shelf. I think he did a great job. What a smarty pants.

It's an awkward angle to get a good shot, but it looks great all put together.

Zuri discovered the windows were her height and she loved loved watching Chris work.

Aren't they all so dang cute?

kisses

Chris taught Zuri how to give kisses. It's funny, you know when you see other kids give their parents kisses you think it's cute, but all you think about is "eww, look at all that drool." Well, it's like everyone says, it's totally different when it's your kid. It's cool, I'll hop on that bandwagon.

yikes. teething.

Finally! It took since she was about three months, poor kid has been in pain on and off for a long while. Luckily she didn't get grouchy until the night we got back from Vermont. That would have been one miserable drive if she'd been cranky. She did great though, when we got to the hotel in DC she crawled around like an energizer bunny for three hours straight before she went to sleep...It was entertaining for sure. The tooth's a sharp little sucker and it's coming in fast. Well, one down, a million to go.

We are moving upstairs around the 9th, so this next week is going to be some serious work. It will be nice and weird to have so much space. The basement worked so well for just Chris and I, but babies seriously double the stuff we own. Ahhh and to baby proof! That will be glorious!

I'll post pictures one day.
